No Kobe, Awesome Knicks Win

Yeah, it sucks that we didn't get to see Kobe Bryant play the Knicks, especailly the fans who went to the game. But in the bigger picture you have to be a fool, or an ignorant fan to not appreciate the League's retardedness in suspending Kobe for a game, when he should have just received a fine. It opened up the doors for the Knicks to cruise to a victory over the Lakers without 3 of their starters now(Luke Walton and Kwame Brown). However, Radmonovic and Odom hit two threes towards the end of the game to spoil a 10 point lead but the Knicks were able to hold the Lakers off.

Hit Your Free Throws

If you go 58% from the line you are lucky to lose only by 2 points, ridiculous.

Jamal Crawford's 52

Even Dwayne Wade couldn't stop him that night.

Saturday, January 27, 2007

Yes, Jamal Crawford dropped 52 points on the world champion Miami Heat last night. Hitting 8 three pointers, it was a night for the ages. He was unbelievable at times and was not able to miss. Marbury added 13 assists and David Lee had ANOTHER double double with 11 points and 12 boards as the Knicks return the favor and blow the doors off the Miami Heat 116-96(even with Jerome James starting against Shaq). So this makes alot of sense, last week they get blown out in Miami when the Heat didn't have Wade and Shaq. Now Batman and Robin were playing and Crawford turns into Superman and the Heat had no shot.

Yeah, that's right I said it Jared Jefferies is garbage. He can defend once in a while but he cannot shoot, he cannot pass, he cannot rebound, and he is not big enough to bang down low with the big guys but hey that's perfect for their big offseason pick up. START DAVID LEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How many double doubles off the bench does he have to get to get the consistant starting nod, I just do not get it at all. I've been saying this since October when everybody was sooooo excited to pick him up click here to see

Yeah he dunked over Stoudemire
no not Damon........Amare

Now that was a frustrating loss. Down early giving up a 27-0 run, coming back pulling it within 6 in the fourth(even with the refs giving Assholzo Mourning all the calls). Just to get burned on pretty much half court 3's two of them by Jason Williams and another normal 3 by Antoine Walker. It doesn't get much irritating of a loss then that one. Reading a very angry David Lee's lips after the two bombs by Williams "they are shooting threes from half court"

Marbury Can't Finish

In the Knicks 108-106 victory over the Pacers last night in Indiana Stephon Marbury banged up his knee and was unable to finish up the final 90 seconds of the game. This brought Nate Robinson in who commited two turnovers one a pass to Malik Rose at center court(yes power foward Malik Rose) who then prompted to travel. The next was a pass to David Lee(20 pts and 16 rbs) at center court who had not crossed the timeline yet and was called for the backcourt violation. So instead of the Knicks putting the Pacers away, since they had an 8 point lead with about 1:10 remaining, the Pacers had a shot to win the game with a 3 but Granger's shot fell short. To Nate's credit he did hit 3 of 4 free throws to help hold off Indiana. If Granger hit that shot and the Knicks lost 3 last second games in a row, when they seemingly had it won already, it would've absolutely sent them into a long losing streak.

Second Straight Heartbreaker

For the second time in 2 games the Knicks have lost in the final seconds after hitting a seemingly game winning shot. The other night it was against the Wizards where Caron Butler dunked in the easy bucket to win the game, right after a Jamal Crawford floater. Last night Crawford took the shot with the Knicks down one, missed it, but "Shallow Water" David Lee tipped in the apparent game winner, but there were 9 seconds left. Nine seconds left for Wince Carter to miss a layup and old man Clifford (no not the big red dog) Robinson to push Curry and tip in the winner.........Knicks lose a heartbreaker. It is to their advantage that they dont have to sit with a bad taste in their mouths for long, as they play again tonight at Indiana.

Where have you been? - Anthony Mason

This sixth man of the year award winner in the 1994-95 season, played 5 strong seasons with the Knickerbockers. He played with a number of different franchises but his longest tenure with any team was with New York from '91-'96, he ended up playing 13 NBA seasons which is remarkable. He was as strong as bricks and had more handles then most players in the game today which is ridiculous for a man his size 6' 8 265. Mason was also one of the backbones to the Knicks in the early 90s along with Charles Oakley and Patrick Ewing, nobody was driving down the lane or showboating on that Knick team(JR Smith would've been knocked from the Garden to Long Island if he tried to what he did on todays Knicks against Ewing, Oakley, and Mason's Knicks). However, his constant ball hogging caused the Knicks to trade him to the Hornets for Larry Johnson in 1996. His career averages of 10.9 pts and 8.3 rbs per game aren't mind boggling, but he was an All-Star when he played for the hated Miami Heat for one season in the 2000-'01 year. He also averaged 16.2 points and 11.4 rbs per game in his best statistical season in his first year with the Hornets. You can now catch Anthony Mason watching his son Anthony Mason Jr. play for St. John's. If his son turns out to be half the player his dad was then he is in for a good NBA career.

Where there's a will, you can shut down Gil

Caron Butler thats another story.

The Knicks showed fight and determination last night even in defeat. They shut down the leagues leading scorer and MVP front runner Gilbert Arenas. Marbury stepped up shutting him down to only 16 points on 4-14 shooting and blocking one of his shots. However, his "Pippen" Caron Butler is putting up career numbers and somebody lost him at the end of the game to ruin another Crawford game winner, giving up an easy Butler dunk. Q-Rich did drop 35 with 10 boards(its good to have him back healthy thats for damn sure). Q-Rich is a character

Monday, January 15, 2007

Yeah so the Knicks won on a 1 o'clock matinee at the Garden against the Kings 102-97. However, there was no sign of Nate Robinson. Since coming back from his suspension Nate hasn't played with the same energy he has always displayed. This DNP(did not play) is a definate messege to Robinson from Coach Thomas to stop thinking so much about the "brawl," and what peole think about you, and just play ball like he has his entire life. The Knicks however, D'ed up Artest holding him to only 12 points, and Crawford hit the game winner plus the game clinching free throws with only seconds remaining.

Bobcats Cruise

Somewhere deep down in my heart I knew the Knicks were going to lose this one. Especially after the heart wrenching loss the Bobcats suffered at the Garden(David Lee's tip in with .1 remaining) and with their boss(and the God himself) Michael Jordan sitting courtside to view that one, I just knew they were going to get smacked. Emeka Okafor did his share of smacking, swatting away 10 shots, which turned out to be a record for an opponent at the Garden. He nearly had the odd triple double but ended up with a mere 9 boards and 20 points. However, this is really still not the end of the world, all the papers around New York just seem to treat every basketball game like it's a football game. It's to sell more papers I understand and the ignorant fan is going to believe everything the newspaper tells them. However, there's 82 games in basketball not 16, every possession every game does not mean nearly as much. The Knicks can bounce back on Martin Luther(to the) King Jr. Day on Monday, a 1 o'clock home game against Ron Ron and his Kings(hopefully Artest doesn't torch N.Y. like he loves to do

Old School Knicks/Lakers Fight

The Knicks were fighting since back then(1988)'s a New York team what do you expect.

Knicks Win 3rd Straight

So the Knicks beat the Sixers last night at the Garden in the first game back at home after their west coast trip. I can see the Knick critics now "yeah it's three straight but over three bad teams, Portland, Seattle and the Sixers." ***NEWS FLASH*** you can only play/beat who is on your schedule. Also if the Knicks were to lose these three in a row, which would have made it 6 straight loses due to the 3 they lost in the begining of the west coast trip, they'd be calling for Coach Thomas' head. Let this team continue to gel, I've been saying it since my season preview that the Knicks will get at least the 8th seed in the east with around a .500 record.

Mark Jackson Mix

The Knicks should've kept Mark Jackson from the start of his career. So theres alot of highlights in this film of when Jackson was on the Pacers when he easily could've been a lifetime Knick. Instead, they traded him to the Clippers for Doc Rivers and ugh Charles Smith. Rivers was good but he was towards the end of his career when they got him. Charles Smith, oh man make a layup or kick it out, if you are a Knick fan from their playoff runs in the 90s you know exactly what I am talking about.

Where have you Been? - Anthony Bonner

Remember him?? He played two solid years with the Knicks('93-'94 and '94-'95) 6-8, out of St. Louis in 1990. He was a first round draft pick of the Sacramento Kings and he played sparingly in three seasons with the Kings before signing with Riley and the Knicks. He saw action in his two seasons with the Knicks being a solid and tough defender off the bench. He fit in very well with the defensive powerhouse of the Knicks in the 90's. He then played with the Magic after landing in basketball obscurity in Europe/Asia, he has played in Italy, Spain, Greece and Russia and he was even an All-Star in the Greek league in 1996. He has also played in Puerto Rico, just trying to get back in the real league. He tryed out for the Pacers this summer but he got cut. Now Anthony Bonner(34 years old) is still probably ballin somewhere, but who knows what continent he is playing on now. However, he did play his heart out for New York when he helped the Knicks reach the finals in 1994.

Knicks Beat Sonics

Marbury scored 28, Curry scored 27(9 of 9 from the field), and Crawford scored 22 in this easy victory for the Knicks in Sonicland. (You know it was an easy win when Jerome James played a minn.) David Lee had yet another double double with 10 and 10. 20 out of 36 games this season with 10 boards for Mr. Lee, 1 game with 20, 1 with 19, 4 with 9 rbs and 7 with 8 boards a ridiculous season. The Knicks go into a 4 day vacation after this past west coast trip where they won the last 2 out of a 5 game trip.

West Coast Trip Over

Tonight the Knicks go into Seattle to take on Ray Allen, Luke Ridnour and the rest of the Supersonics to finally end their west coast trip. A west coast trip which saw the Knicks win one game against the Portland Trail Blazers, has been far less then productive to their mediocre record(14-21). The Knicks will get a 4 day rest when they play host to Philly next Wednesday. Next Wednesday will also mark the return of Nate Robinson and possibly Q-Rich who has been nursing a strained back.

Larry Johnson 4-Point Play

I think I jumped out of my shoes when he knocked that one down
Nate Robinson Blocks Yao

Nate Robinson is running Marbury and Francis out of town with plays like this

Ron Ron was Unstoppable

Everytime I see Ron Artest torch the Knicks especially in last nights game where he scored 39 points where it just seemed that he couldn't miss. Makes me think about that great draft pick the Knicks used right before Ron Artest was selected by the Bulls in the first round...............FREDRICK WIES!!!!! Who knows if I'm spelling his last name right and who cares. All this(undercontract on draft day)Frenchman Mr. Wies is remembered for is Vince Carter jumping over his head and dunking on him in a World Championship Game. Drafting him was absolutely one of the dumbest moves in Knick history, I don't care if Ron Ron is a headache, I don't care that he attacked all the Piston fans in Detroit, he is from Queens and he played at St. John's he would've been fine playing at home. He would've stayed here his entire career. It is just a short train ride away from Queens, so all of his boys and family would be able to see him all the time. I am not saying he would stay out of trouble, I am saying he would've felt more comfortable here, and would have never asked to be traded. After all, Fredrick is not really putting up great numbers as a Knick he is most likely to never play for New York ever.

Francis Sent Home

Steve Francis has been sent back to Houston to "rehabilitate" his knee with his personal doctors. Isiah Thomas said that he would be able to receive more attention while rehabilitating at home in Texas. Good idea so now when he does come back, which has been said in weeks not months, with him no where near New York, he will be even more rusty and will be a stranger to his Knick teamates. "I don't think it's serious enough to keep him out" said Thomas. I hope Francis is not milking his injury because Coach Thomas is easily the type of person/coach to call him out on this, if he feels this way.
